Throughout the nineties and into the early naughties the Sales, Marketing & Digital disciplines became more closely aligned in the commercial world and the focus of the firm was widened to include the sales and senior commercial recruitment disciplines.

The People Group continued to grow as it gained a very strong reputation for guiding career advice and providing solid recruitment solutions. The team continued to expand and the firm moved across the road to 4 Clanwilliam Square where there was more space to conduct business. Some senior strategic additions were made to strengthen the team and operation while also focusing on specific industry verticals.

Colm Buckley joined in 2003 having spent sixteen years working in the banking area at senior sales, marketing & digital levels with Bank of Ireland and MBNA. Rory Brennan joined in 2004 from Mark Mitchell and Brian Sweeney came on board in 2008 from HRM.

Growth and success saw The People Group being acquired in 2006 and become part of the same stable of companies as Sigmar, Kenny Whelan, and others under the Newcourt PLC banner. Unfortunately, the property crash of 2008 changed the business environment dramatically but also provided an opportunity for a successful MBO of The People Group by Colm Buckley, Brian Sweeney, and Siobhan Phelan in August of 2009.

The team we have now are part of the next phase in The People Group’s history and they will help write this chapter. They share a common bond with the firm’s forefathers and the successful teams over the years.

Our offices are based in the Silicon Docks of Europe in the Grand Canal area. For the historians, the site we’re on was the overflow cart & dray horse park for Boland’s Mill back in the day.
