The original founder of the firm, Tom Burgess, had worked successfully for Sales Placement for a number of years and he decided to build his own empire. Very few other firms were specialising in the Marketing recruitment area and Tom felt there was a gap in the market to focus on. Dave Allan joined the The People Group in 1994 having worked within the banking industry at marketing director level for a number of years. The duo drove the firm and enjoyed great growth, and success while the brand gained a strong foothold as the go to place for marketers.
