Job Purpose
To deliver exceptional results for the brand(s) through excellent execution of local plans, taken from the European agenda, and act as day to day brand guardian in the respective country.
Reporting Relationships:
This position reports to the Marketing Director
Principal Accountabilities
- Prepare and agree the annual volume and investment plan for the brands managed. On an ongoing basis, monitor and review this plan to ensure performance vs. objectives and efficient use of resources to achieve the established goals
- Choosing from the Area menu for global and regional brands, define and brilliantly execute the calendar of business building activity for the brand locally, in order to deliver the annual country plan
- Work closely with Area Activation team to ensure European communications and promotions on global and regional brands are adapted appropriately for the local market, and to develop materials to support local brands, as agreed via the business planning process. This will also involve close cooperation with the local Nutrition to ensure alignment and approval of specific brand claims & messages (in compliance with country specific legislation).
- Work with the media agency locally and the Area Media support to run the media planning process, ensuring the most efficient use of investment through a variety of communication channels
- Prepare and execute Innovation launch plans in market, as approved by the Area. For "lift and launch" activity, prepare country contribution to European LAM and PIR documentation.
- Help execute local research projects as directed by the Area
- Undertake brand analysis as requested by the Area as part of the annual planning cycle
- Work closely with trade marketing, Catman and sales in local market to ensure effective execution of actions at point of sale
- Continuously monitor brand performance and competitor activity, proactively reacting to changes and threats; be able to provide estimations and forecasting about volume and share
- Manage the day-to-day business proceses for the brands to ensure effective and efficient business management (eg budget management, SAP)
- Respond to data requests from Area Marketing as required
- (Where appropriate) supervises one Assistant Brand Manager, ensuring clear direction given and all Talent Management Processes are followed.
Skills
- Educated to degree level / business school graduate, or equivalent, with Marketing major preferred, and 5 years classic blue chip FMCG marketing experience.
- The job holder must ideally be bilingual and able to communicate effectively in both local language and English, orally and in writing.
- Strong influencing skills are required to drive internal alignment, eg with Finance, Sales, Supply Chain
- A passion for our brands, and a strong execution and results focus are essential, in addition to project management skills and the ability to prioritise.
