Reporting to the Managing Director you will be part of the Irish Leadership team and play a key role in shaping and leading the development of the Irish Business

As an experienced senior sales management professional, this role presents an excellent opportunity for you to further enhance your career and be part of a successful and growing business.

You will lead and manage a team to deliver target levels of profitable Sales (currently via distribution partners). In particular, the role will be responsible for driving the performance, enhancing the effectiveness and overall business development capability of the sales function.

Dimensions:

  • A member of the Irish Leadership Team
  • Reports to the Managing Director
  • Responsibility for management of a team of up to 20 sales and technical support personnel with budget of circa €3.5m
  • Responsibility for all intermediated sales in Ireland and the development of alternative distribution channels
  • Build strong relationships and effectively influence across the business e.g. Product Development, Customer Service and Marketing
  • Responsible for specifying and delivering all the Operational support required by Sales

 

Key Outputs:

  • Direct reports managed, coached and developed to create a high performance culture that delivers profitable sales.
  • Maximise operational processes, continuously improving their effectiveness, optimise new technical platforms where appropriate.(e.g Salesforce.com)
  • Up- weight the capability of the function, focusing on business development to grow our market share and proportion of our customers business
  • Salesforce to be best in market to write profitable new business, achieve targets and perform to a high degree of competence in their roles.
  • Divisional business plan produced and monitored to ensure targets and objectives are met.
  • Sales business monitored (including monitoring Broker business - e.g persistency, commission issues) such that processes and procedures are developed and implemented to ensure the division meets its group responsibilities (volume and persistency targets and profit).
  • Management information created for Sales, analysed and conclusions highlighted to the Irish and European Leadership team
  • Sales performance measured and analysed so that recommendations can be made then implemented on behalf of the division
  • Business development programmes created and implemented to facilitate the generation of new business or to measure the performance of the division across defined customer segments
  • Business strategies developed and implemented across the group (e.g segmentation) to facilitate co-ordinated new business production
  • Conduct strategic assessment of alternative routes to market  
  • Effectively manage overall sales and support budget of €3.5m.

  • Managing change and performance in an environment where significant and ongoing change in not the culture
  • Managing individuals/team located across different geographical locations
  • Challenging management across the business to prioritise the operational support they need such that the business critical work and the supporting sale work remain our top priorities
  • Keeping up to date with industry changes and differing customer needs and wants (both internal and external) to ensure the Sales Ops service delivers what is needed now as well as anticipating what will be needed in the future
  • Managing and motivating the team through a series of difficult industry and company changes so that the service quality is not diminished
  • To ensure that the sales area is operating within a compliant framework, given the frequent legislative, regulatory, process and procedural changes
  • To achieve a balance between providing an attractive customer proposition and retaining commercial viability
  • To ensure that Sales attracts, retains, develops quality people who will shape the viable business of the future

 

Qualifications/Experience:

  • At least 5 - 8 years senior experience in a sales management or related people management role.

 

This role is based in Dublin and the Salary is in excess of €120k comprehensive package
